GADIM Documentary, Props No More, Underway  

The Global Alliance for Disability in Media and Entertainment (GADIM) is producing a documentary film, Props No More, that will introduce viewers to disabled media creators who are making content that challenges the continuing negative stereotypes of disability in media. The disabled creators in the documentary are from journalism, film, online media, and the entertainment industry and illustrate to the world how to maneuver around barriers to make empowering and accessible media.

Props No More is an intersectional documentary that sheds light on the media world from the viewpoint of disabled media creators, activists, and experts from six countries. Because of the barriers for people with disabilities in the news and entertainment media globally, these media industries forgo the creative talents of disabled people; humanity is far more diverse than its current stories. Props No More explores how disabled journalists, actors, filmmakers, and other media professionals are about to break through with their authentic narratives. The documentary offers a unique vision about how accurate media portrayals benefit not only disability representation, but the world, with more colorful, diverse and inclusive media for everyone.
