GADIM Founders are Judges for MIPCOM Diversify TV Excellence Awards on an Ongoing Basis
GADIM has been part of the jury of the MIPCOM Diversify TV Excellence Awards since 2017, when it began. It is dedicated to championing and promoting diversity and inclusion in all forms across the international television industry. MIPCOM is the international TV trade market for entertainment content.
Dedicated to championing and promoting diversity and inclusion in all forms across the international television industry, the MIPCOM Diversify TV Excellence Awards “aim to shine a light on programmes of diverse and inclusive background, spotlighting new and established voices, from a wide range of countries and recognising programming that exemplifies authentic and positive representation of under-represented communities.”
The awards have eight categories: Representation of Race and Ethnicity/Scripted; Representation of Race and Ethnicity/Non-Scripted; Representation of LGBTQ+/Scripted; Representation of LGBTQ+/Non-Scripted; Representation of Disability/Scripted Representation of Disability/Non-Scripted; Representation of Diversity in Kids Programming/Pre-school; Representation of Diversity in Kids Programming/Older Children. GADIM, along with the disability organization SCOPE in the UK, judge the two disability categories.
Each year’s winners are announced in October at an event in Cannes, France.
